There you go, I’ve used the ‘C’ word twice in one sentence, it may be early but glamorous Alea are already taking bookings, so if you’re still just thinking about planning booking this years do, I wouldn’t hang around too long as others have already got it wrapped up.
The showcase was held in the Hidden bar at Alea with tables laid for festive fayre. After being greeted with a smooth chocolatey Christmas cocktail of Baileys, Tia Maria and apple, we were able to sample some festive canapés in the form of Pigs in blankets, turkey and cranberry slices and some gorgeous bite size Christmas puddings and chocolate truffles.
Party planners also enjoyed live entertainment from the high-energy six piece band TI FunK who will provide music from soul and Motown to disco, along with a DJ at the parties so you can celebrate through until the early hours. The festive season starts on Friday November 27th through until the New Year.
Alea plan to add a touch of sparkle this year with their magical Winter Wonderland theme and New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball in what will be their newly refurbished events suites, perfect for the annual office bash or just getting together with loved ones (see, I’ve come over all sentimental just thinking about it)
The menu for Christmas dining offers Carrot and Honey cream soup, citrus sorbet, traditional roast turkey with chipolatas, homemade stuffing and bread sauce and chocolate and raspberry tart, whilst the menu for New Year includes Creamy cauliflower soup and Stilton toast, citrus sorbet, fillet of beef Wellington with fondant potato and Whisky sauce, Brie and Beetroot tart with cranberry and walnut sauce and black forest tart with ice ream and caramelised orange.
Alea offers a state-of-the-art casino, two fabulous bar and a great restaurant, all in one of the city’s most famous landmark buildings on Upper Parliament Street. The building in fact used to house the old Co-op where my Mum used to take me to see Santa as a kid, so quite apt really!
Prices start at £35pp and Alea will be donating £1 per guest that attends the festivities to charity.
